Comcast SportsNet will broadcast 54 regular season games during the 2006-07 campaign, beginning with the regular season opener in Cleveland on November 1st; a rematch from last season’s NBA Playoff series between the Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers.

In addition to the 54 games to be carried on Comcast SportsNet, and the return of Comcast’s Wizards Post Game Live, the network will produce 13 games to air on WDCW-TV, The CW Washington, and an additional 10 games to air on NewsChannel 8.

Washington is scheduled to appear on national television 19 times during the 2006-07 campaign, including eight ESPN telecasts (11/1 at CLE, 11/17 at DET, 12/8 at PHI, 12/22 at PHX, 1/12 at NOK, 2/23 at CHI, 4/6 vs. CLE, 4/18 at IND), nine NBATV games (11/4 vs. BOS, 11/18 vs. CLE, 12/4 vs. DAL, 12/17 at LAL, 1/23 vs. PHX, 1/30 vs. DET, 3/11 at MIA, 3/17 vs. NOK, 4/10 vs. NJN), one TNT Thursday night exclusive, (12/21 at SAC), and one contest in ABC’s window (4/15 vs. CHI).

"There is an immense sense of excitement surrounding this team as we approach the 2006-07 Wizards’ season, and Comcast SportNet, WDCW-TV and NewsChannel 8, along with the NBA's national television partners, are sharing in that excitement with a packed slate of broadcasts to come," said Washington Sports and Entertainment President Susan O’Malley. "After another thrilling season last year, and back-to-back trips to the NBA Playoffs, the 2006-07 broadcast schedule will put great Wizards basketball in living rooms nationwide."

"The Wizards have generated a positive buzz throughout the Mid-Atlantic with two straight playoff appearances and a group of talented players that give their fans, along with our network, a reason to eagerly anticipate the upcoming NBA season," said Sam Schroeder, executive vice president and general manager of Comcast SportsNet. "Comcast SportsNet’s long-standing relationship with the Wizards allows us to provide viewers with not only game broadcasts and postgame wrap-ups, but also in-depth features, breakdowns and interviews from our expert analysts."
