Juan's Training Camp Diary: Day 2
By Juan Dixon, Wizards Guard

Dixon

Today was a tough day for a lot of us. Guys had to push their way through the practices today. We ran a lot of drills in the morning session, trying to get the fundamentals down and get better as a team and as an individual.

We didn’t have such a great day yesterday, so the coaches wanted us to come back today and give a better effort on both ends of the floor, especially on the defensive end. We are trying to learn so much in a short amount of time, and the guys are really giving a great effort. We responded very well from yesterday.

I think the scrimmage tonight was great. I think guys worked hard on both ends of the floor and I think the coaches were pleased, and that’s always a good thing. The coaches have put together pretty good teams for the scrimmages and we are out there competing against each other. I just have to continue to work.

I have Tyronn (Lue) and Chris (Whitney) helping me along the way to try and learn the point guard position. It's coming along, but I just have to continue to get better at it and only time will tell how I will do at the position. I'm happy right now, I just go out there and try and play with as much energy as possible.

I'm pretty sore everywhere from the intense workouts we had yesterday so I'm thrilled to have tomorrow (Thursday) morning off. I'm going to get up in the morning, eat breakfast and go over to the arena and do stretching and get treatment if I need to. I'm so sore. My groin is tight, my hamstrings are tight, quads, you name it, it's tight, but I just have to keep on plugging away at it.
