NBA Family Tips off 2013 with NBA Fit Live Healthy Week

NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2013 -- The NBA family today tips off its NBA FIT Live Healthy Week, which will run through Feb. 1. During the week, the entire NBA family – led by the NBA/WNBA FIT Team – will join celebrity chefs, community members, and partners to highlight the importance of healthy living.

The 2013 NBA FIT Team includes Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors), Tyson Chandler (New York Knicks), Goran Dragic (Phoenix Suns), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves), Wesley Matthews (Portland Trail Blazers), Chandler Parsons (Houston Rockets), and John Wall (Washington Wizards). NBA FIT Live Healthy Week will feature grassroots programs and events, special oncourt apparel, and in-arena and online programming designed to inspire kids and families across the country to live active, healthy lives. Throughout the week, NBA and NBA Development League players will wear special oncourt attire, including adidas NBA FIT shooting shirts and blue headbands and wristbands. The adidas shooting shirts will be available at NBAStore.com and the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

As part of NBA FIT Live Healthy Week, fans are encouraged to log on to NBA.com/NBAFIT to get fitness tips from NBA players and trainers, view player workout videos, and check out healthy recipes from celebrity chefs Rachael Ray, Mario Batali, Dale Talde (TALDE), Michael Ferraro (Delicatessen), Michael Psilakis (Kefi), and Aquiles Chavez (La Fisheria). Each day, fans can log on to the NBA FIT web site to access delicious, nutritious recipes created by these award-winning chefs for NBA FIT Live Healthy Week.

By following @NBACares Jan. 24 through Feb. 1 and correctly answering FIT-related questions, fans will have a shot at some great daily NBA giveaways, including NBA FIT Team autographed items.
