Name Michelle P.
Years as Wizard Girl Rookie
Hometown Springfield, VA
Occupation Registered Dietitian

Hi! I’m very excited to join the Wizard Girls for the 2010-2011 season!  I’ve been cheering-on Washington’s team from the stands since I was a little girl, and dancing just as long. I can’t wait to bring it down to the court to help you cheer our Wizards into an amazing new season!

What college or university did you attend?  James Madison University

When you are not at work, in class, or dancing with the Wizards, what is your favorite thing to do?  Bake! I’m a complete food nerd. I love trying new and interesting recipes – it’s the best stress-reliever! I also love hanging out with friends, relaxing by the water on a nice day, shopping, and exploring  DC.

Favorite thing about being a Wizard Girl? The chance to do what I love –dance! -- with an amazing group of talented women. I’m also looking forward to the unique experiences to come as we have more and more opportunities to interact with fans in the community.

What was your most interesting job? I had a summer job in high school working at a smoothie bar inside the Pentagon. I met some really interesting people and officially learned how to master the metro.

Something most people don’t know about you? I haven’t watched a scary movie since Scream 3 (if that even counts). I can’t sleep for weeks after watching them!

Favorite thing about DC? Everything! There’s so much to do here. This city is so beautiful and eclectic. I’ve lived near DC most of my life and still constantly find new places to go and things to do.  There’s nowhere else like it.

3 words that describe you best: Easy-going, compassionate, fun-loving

What’s one thing you can’t live without? The first thing that comes to mind is chocolate! But in reality, I would say I absolutely can’t live without my friends and family.

What animated character are you most like? Belle

TV Show: So You Think You Can Dance
Movie: Pretty Woman, Thomas Crown Affair
Book: Davinci Code
DC Restaurant: Bus Boys and Poets and Lauriol Plaza
Song: "Walking on Sunshine" -  It’s impossible to be in a bad mood when this song is playing.
Quote/Saying: “Whether you think you can or can’t, either way you are right.”

Who do you admire most and why? I admire a number of people, but for a lot of the same reasons. I admire those driven to do what they truly love and believe in without reservation, and are thankful for all they have.
