Hey everyone! I’m Lee-Ann, and I’m super excited to start my first season as a Washington Wizard Girl! I get really into the game, so if you see a Wizard Girl making the same signals as the referee, it’s probably me. It’s going to be a great season here in the nation’s capitol! GO WIZARDS!!! What college or university did you attend? Currently attending University of Maryland, College Park, When you are not at work, in class or dancing with the Wizards, what is your favorite thing to do? I really enjoy the fact that I can hang out in DC, it’s such a great city. I like spending time with family and my close friends since they are like family to me as well. I really like to travel. Even if it’s a weekend get-away, it’s nice to have a change of scenery sometimes. Favorite thing about being a Wizard Girl? Oh, there are so many things! I absolutely love to dance, so being a dancer for the NBA is a treasure! Also, all the girls on the team have been so welcoming, seeing that I am a rookie this year. I enjoy being a part of team with such talented young women! Another great thing about being a WG is being able to interact with different people in the community during charities and promotions. Theres nothing like making Wizard fans smile! :o) What was your most interesting job? My most interesting job was definitely my first teaching job at a dance studio. I was offered a position at the studio that I grew up dancing in during my first year of college. I had never taught a class by myself, so teaching 20 girls, ages 8 to 10, was a lot to grasp! I learned so much about myself through the kids, and it was an amazing experience! Something most people don’t know about you? I have a pretty unique background. I am half African-American , ¼ Greek, and ¼ Czech. Favorite thing about DC? What isn’t great about it?! It’s a city of power. Its got incredible monuments and museums that display our country’s history. DC’s just got an atmosphere like no other city. And did I mention the night-life?! It’s too great! 3 words that describe you best: Social-butterfly, Graceful, Ambitious What’s one thing you can’t live without: Hmm that’s hard. You can live without material things. I would have to say I couldn’t live without feeling that I am loved and supported. That’s irreplaceable. What animated character are you most like? Elmo…so I’ve been told! I laugh all the time! LOL FAVORITES: TV Show: House, 24, Real Housewives of…(doesn’t matter what city!) Movie: Ahh theres so many! Right now though, its “7 Pounds”. I love Will Smith! Book: The Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell. Read it, you’ll be inspired! DC Restaurant: Bus-boys and Poets; great food, relaxed atmosphere! Song: Anything with a good beat that I can dance to, really. Quote/Saying: "...pursue the things you love doing, then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off you." -Maya Angelou Who do you admire most and why? My grandmother, or ‘Nanna’ as I called her. She was a member of the first Greek tap dancing troupe to dance in NYC. She was a woman of defined grace and eloquence. She always believed in doing what makes you happy. |
