The Wizards and Cavs went back and forth for much of the night, but thanks to some stifling defense down the stretch, the Wiz held the Cavs to just 11 fourth quarter points and were able to come out with a 96-83 victory on Sunday night in Cleveland.
John Wall led the team with 21 points and nine assists, including two 3-pointers in the final 30 seconds of the first half, one of which beat the halftime buzzer.
Bradley Beal added 17 points, Trevor Ariza had 15 points and nine boards, while Marcin Gortat tallied another double-double, with 13 points and 13 boards.
With six minutes left in the game, Bradley Beal intercepted a Kyrie Irving pass and went coast-to-coast for a layup to give the Wizards an 11 point lead. This signified the defensive effort the Wizards put out in the fourth and sealed the win.
