Kyrie Irving led the Cavaliers to a 103-96 overtime win over the Wizards at Verizon Center on the strength of his 41 points. The game was back and forth almost the entire second half before Irving had a chance to win it at the end of regulation but Nene stripped him of the ball as he went to the hoop. In OT though it was all Irving, scoring 9 of the Cavs 13 points. Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 28 points, Nene had 24 and Marcin Gortat had a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Key Moment

With the Wizards down one, 90-89, with 24 seconds to play, Nene was fouled and had a chance to give the Wizards the lead at the free throw line. He made one out of two free throws to tie the game and so the Cavs had their chance to win it in regulation. Irving drove to the hoop and Nene poked the ball away from him to force OT.

Player of the Game

While Bradley Beal and Nene both had great nights for the Wizards, Kyrie Irving was the man of the night. He had 41 points on 14/28 shooting, including 18 in the fourth quarter and OT. He was 4/7 from three point range and a perfect 9/9 at the free throw line.

Key Number

22. Both the Wizards and Cavs shot 22 free throws in the contest, but the Cavs made 21 for 95.5% and the Wizards just 16 for 72.7%.

Unsung Hero

Jan Vesely was very active and did a lot of little things in this ballgame as he got his most extended run of the season. He had 4 points on 2/3 shooting, both baskets being of the highlight dunk variety to go along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
