This one was back and forth all night but the Wizards prevailed at the end to get their third straight victory, 96-93. The win moves the Wizards back up to .500 at 19-19. The Wizards five point lead with just under three to play was the largest lead by either team in the fourth quarter and it only lasted for about 20 seconds before Hinrich cut into it. The Bulls had a chance to tie at the buzzer but Nene blocked Butler's three attempt. The Wizards shot 50.6% from the field, marking their third straight game shooting over 50%. John Wall led all players with 23 points and 11 assists. Five other Wizards finished in double figures, led by Beal and Webster with 14. Hinrich led the Bulls with 18 points.
This one came right down to the wire. The Bulls got the ball with 10 seconds left and down by three. Nene played the hero as he blocked Butler's three attempt at the buzzer to seal the win. Noah sealed off Wall and Nene was forced to switch onto Butler and the rest as they say is history.
Player of the Game
Every night it seems this is the case, but John Wall was certainly the man of the night again. He led all players with 23 points (on 9/15 shooting) and 11 assists. Wall had three turnovers in the first five minutes, but just one more the rest of the way. He also hit one of the most athletic circus shots you will ever see during the third quarter. 50.6%. On the year, the Bulls allow opponents to shoot just 43% from the field, but for the second time in five nights the Wizards shot over 50% against them.
Booker had another strong game off the bench, scoring 12 points on 6/9 shooting to go along with seven rebounds. After Booker hit his first five shots of the night, he had made 11 in a row going back to Monday's game against the Bulls.
