The Mavericks were too much for the Wizards in Dallas on Tuesday night, winning 105-95. The Wizards got out to a good start but couldn't maintain it as the Mavs would grab the lead at the start of the second quarter and never relinquish it. Trevor Ariza led all scorers in the contest with 27 points.

Key Moment

With 3:30 to go in the third quarter, a Trevor Ariza three ball would get the Wizards to within four. The Mavs would respond immediately with an 8-0 run to bump the lead back to 12 and which included two Dirk Nowitzki three pointers. The second of those three pointers pushed Nowitzki ahead of Jerry West on the all-time scoring list and the Wizards would never get that close again.

Player of the Game

Trevor Ariza led all scorers with 27 points and played a nice complete game. His 27 points came on 11/17 shooting and 5/11 from beyond the arc. He added seven rebounds and four steals as well.

Key Number

33-19. The Mavs bench, led by Vince Carter's 16 points, almost doubled up the Wizards bench tonight. The second unit for the Wizards needs to find some offensive consistency.

Unsung Hero

Marcin Gortat continues to be so solid in the middle, finishing with his fourth double-double in six games. He also had four blocks on the night.
