The Wizards fought back from down 20 to force overtime, but in the end it was not enough as they fell to the Bobcats, 94-88. The loss drops the Wizards into a tie for the six seed in the east, with the Bobcats now holding the tiebreaker due to their winning the season series three games to one. The Wizards opened the second half on a 14-2 run to make it a ballgame after trailing by 13 at the break. Gortat and Jefferson traded buckets in the final 10 seconds to send the game to overtime where the Wizards offense simply went ice cold. The Wizards shot the ball better than the Bobcats on the whole, but the Bobcats were much better from long range and at the stripe. John Wall got his third career triple-double, going for 14 points, 12 boards and 11 assists, while Gortat led all scorers with 27 points and grabbed 14 boards. Nene returned from injury to score 10 off the bench. Al Jefferson led the Bobcats with 20 points and 18 boards.

Key Moment

The overtime period was not kind to the Wizards as over the five minute extra session, the Wizards could not get anything going on offense. They had zero field goals and just one point on a John Wall made free throw, as the Bobcats would score a little more and get the victory.

Player of the Game

Jefferson on the other hand, had 20 points on 9/20 shooting, grabbed 18 boards and had two assists.

Key Number

Unsung Hero

Trevor Booker gave the Wizards tons of energy, especially early in the game when they were desperate for it. He finished with 16 points on 4/5 shooting and a career high eight made free throws (on eight attempts). He also blocked five shots, his season-high and had two steals.
