Game Recap: Wizards 81 - Pacers 89

The Wizards were once again plagued by a slow start, as the Pacers got out to a 28-13 lead to open the game and although the Wizards would pull within two in the second half, they could never get over the hump and fell 89-81 on Wednesday night in Indiana.

Jordan Crawford bounced back from a tough outing Tuesday night to lead the Wizards in scoring with 20 points off the bench. He also dished out a team-high seven assists and pulled down four rebounds.

In what was a physical game for much of the night, the Wizards shot only 10 free throws compared to the Pacers 31 which could have been the difference in this one. The Wizards shot 42% from the field compared to the Pacers 38%, but the free throw discrepancy was more than enough to make up the difference.

The closest the Wizards would come of the lead came early in the third quarter when they trailed 51-49, but a few turnovers allowed the Pacers to rebuild their lead. The Wizards did make it interesting in the final minute, as Bradley Beal scored five straight points to bring the Wiz to within 4, but the Pacers would make their free throws and close it out to get the home win.

Kevin Seraphin contributed with 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Nene finished with 15 points, while Bradley Beal had 14.
