102

The Wizards three game winning streak against Miami came to a screeching halt as the Heat were simply too much for the Wizards on Saturday night in Miami winning 102-72.

The Heat led by 12 at the end of the first quarter of this one and the game would not get much closer than that as the Wizards would cut it to nine midway through the second quarter but never closer. The third quarter was a particularly tough one as the Heat outscored the Wizards 29-10. For the Wizards, Beal led the way with 19 points, Martin had 18 points on an efficient 6/9 shooting and Okafor had 8 points and 10 boards. For Miami, James had 23, Wade and Haslem had 13 and Bosh had 12.

The Wizards get a couple of much needed days off before getting back to work Tuesday night at home against the Hawks.

On Game:

“One of those nights that nothing fell, and we just had no organization. We just got outplayed, outcoached, out effort, everything. We didn’t have any direction on the floor; I mean I didn’t know what we were running on the floor half the night. A credit to the Miami HEAT, they came out and put pressure on us and we didn’t handle that pressure
On the game:

“We were all over the place. Our heads were spinning. We were short on the bench, but we can’t use that as an excuse. We just have to keep playing through things. We weren’t making shots or plays on both ends of the floor. That led us away from what we wanted to do.”

On if he is tired from traveling:

“Yes and no with all of the traveling, but that’s the life I chose. I have to deal with it and I have to be tough. It’s really all a mental thing. Yes your body is going to be tired, but it’s how you fight through it mentally. As long as we keep fighting and pushing through.”
On the game:

“We just didn’t do a good job fighting that much. We knew they were going to do that and we didn’t take care of business. They were aggressive. They did a good job of taking over on offense and we didn’t. We didn’t (play) hard. They did a good job of taking us out of our offense.”
