The Timberwolves led by as many as 16 in the game and 12 at the half, but the Wizards mounted a big second half comeback and came away with a 104-100 victory at Verizon Center. The Wizards moved the ball extremely well, getting 31 assists on their 41 made baskets, led by John Wall with 16 assists. All five Wizards finished in double figures, led by Beal with 25 and Nene with 20. Kevin Love had a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards but was held relatively in check after a 16 point first quarter.

Key Moment

With 1:10 to go in the game, Kevin Martin knocked down a three pointer (his only one in the game) to give the Wolves a 98-97 lead. On the ensuing Wizards possession, the Wizards moved the ball extremely well and it ended up in the hands of Martell Webster with 42 seconds left and he drilled the go ahead three and the Wizards would never relinquish the lead.

Player of the Game

John Wall didn't shoot the ball particularly well at just 5/17, but his game management and distribution was phenomenal. Wall tied his career high with 16 assists and only turned the ball over one time. He also hit a crucial 22 footer with 1:25 to go, sunk all of his free throws, and chipped in 5 rebounds.

Key Number

100%. The Wizards have struggled mightily at the free throw line this season, but not tonight. The Wizards were 15/15 from the charity stripe including 4/4 in the final 12 seconds.

Unsung Hero

Jan Vesely once again provided a ton of energy off the bench, scoring 8 points on 4/4 shooting including a couple of electric alley-oops. He also grabbed six boards andad two steals in his 19 minutes off the bench.
