Wizards Dance Team Spotlight: Buffy

Dancer: Buffy
Years on Team: 2nd Season
Hometown: Potomac, MD

Why did you want to become a Wizards Dancer?
I love to dance and after college I wanted to continue to perform. This seemed like a great opportunity to do what I love, make friends and represent the Wizards.

What do you like to do when you have some free time?
Sleeping in, then going to an amusement park with my fiance and friends. Laughing and having fun the whole day. And it wouldn't be complete without eating some fries!

Do you go to amusement parks often?
“I actually haven’t been in a long time. I would love to go again. I just never have free time. I was thinking if I had one day to do anything that would be perfect. It’s a day outside with my friends, and it would be a lot of fun.”

Any favorite TV shows?
"’Sex and the City’ and ‘CSI’ I could watch reruns for hours.”

And your favorite “Sex and the City” character is…
“Charlotte! I would love to be Charlotte. She is my favorite, because she is nice and romantic. She is always looking out for other people, and her personal motto is love. I think that’s great.”

You’ve been dancing for about 20 years now. Do you have any favorite artists that you like to dance to?
“Diana Krall. She sings one song that’s my favorite. It’s slow, and it gets my spirits up. It reminds me that everyone goes through tough times and hardships, but you keep going, things get better, and you get stronger because of it.”

On being a basketball fan:
“I was not a fan so much before I started, but now that I am here all the time, I appreciate it so much more. It is a really great sport, and the guys who play have so much going on. I have a lot of respect for them.”

What is the best thing about being a Washington Wizards Dancer?
“Seeing all the long hours, hard work, and dedication come into fruition by producing an amazing performance, wonderful friendships and great memories.”
