The Washington Wizards along with All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas' Zero Two Hero Foundation hosted 300 underserved children and families for Gilbert’s Christmas Dream IV: Skate Party at D’Light Skate N Palace Roller Skating Rink. The event marked the conclusion of the Washington Wizards’ “Twelve Days of Holiday Cheer”. This holiday season the Washington Wizards performed twelve random acts to spread holiday cheer throughout the Washington, D.C. community.

"The best part of this event is everyone just having fun," said Candyce Jones, community relations assistant. "We are just trying to make everyone's holiday what holidays should be, fun and family filled."

The Zero Two Hero Foundation with the support of Easterns Automotive Group and members of the Washington Wizards organization hosted the event. As they have been throughout the 12 Days of Holiday Cheer, the event was a great time for all involved, with the kids enjoying several amenities that included face painters, balloon artists, and magicians. While the kids were enjoying the event they were also able to interact with special guests G-Wiz, several dance team members and Washington Wizards "Hype Man" Chris Styles who also attended the party.

“When I was growing up, my father and I did not have a lot and I remember what that was like at Christmas,” said Arenas. “This event is important to me for many reasons. I have kids now so I see how excited they are about Christmas. I am still a big brother to Arnie (McAllister) and I remember the sadness he felt a few years ago when he lost some of his family members during the holidays. Believe it or not I’m still a kid, so I want to do everything I can to make this a special time of year for these kids.”

The Washington Wizards next community relations event will be on Saturday, December 29th, when the Wizards host Caron's Coats for Kids before they play the Miami Heat at 7:00pm. Before the game fans can bring new and/or clean "like new" coats and gloves to help clothe less fortunate families this year.
