Thank you for submitting your application for the 2008-2009 Gilbert Scores for Schools Contest. Please review this year’s rules and regulations as there are new additions to this year’s program. Further information regarding this year’s drawing for the 41 home games will be sent to the email you provided.
Gilbert Scores for Schools Contest: Official Rules 2008-2009
1. Entrants specifically agree to be bound by these Official Rules by participating in the Wizards, “Gilbert Scores for Schools III” contest. Entrants also specifically agree to be bound by the Wizards decisions regarding this program and all decisions shall be final.
2. The contest will begin on Monday, October 13, 2008 and conclude on Monday, October 20, 2008. All schools must register on-line at http://www.nba.com/wizards/community/scoresforschoolsrequestform_081008.html. Applications will only be accepted via the Wizards websites, we will not accept hand delivered, mailed, or fax applications. On-line registration will conclude at 5:00PM on Monday, October 20, 2008 without exception. The Wizards are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or undeliverable registration forms (all of which will be void) or for any problems or malfunction of any telephones, fax machines, network connections, computers, on-line systems, servers, hardware or software.
3. Gilbert will donate $150 (one hundred fifty dollars) for each point he scores in a home game and during the games Gilbert is unable to play he will donate $150 for each point scored by the Wizards highest scorer in that home game. For every point Gilbert scores during a home Wizards game, $150 (one hundred fifty dollars) will be donated to the school that is designated for that game.
4. Donation must be allocated to your school’s choice of the following four (4) areas:
a. Technology
b. Literacy
c. Athletics
d. After-School programs
5. By entering, entrant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Washington Bullets LP, dba Washington Wizards, DC Arena LP, Washington Sports and Entertainment and the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however names and described), with respect to or arising out of (i) entrant’s participation in the program, or (ii) the receipt or use of the prizes awarded herein.
6. This contest is only open to public and public charter elementary, middle, junior and senior high schools located within a 75 mile radius of the Verizon Center. Public and Public Charter schools are tuition free full-time, accredited schools in the United States, which are supported by taxes and controlled by a school board.
7. Winner hereby agrees and consents, without compensation or remuneration of any kind, to the use of winners name, school’s name, student’s names and/or likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by the Washington Wizards and any and all of its affiliates and/or the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors officers, governors, employees, and agents.
8. All decisions as to contest rules and interpretations of the same are exclusively within the sole discretion of the Washington Wizards and the NBA and may be changed from time to time without notice or recourse. The Washington Wizards reserve the right to cancel or modify this contest at any time without notice or recourse.
