Gilbert Scores for Schools Contest: Official Rules 2007-2008

1. Entrants’ specifically agree to be bound by these Official Rules by participating in the Wizards, “Gilbert Scores for Schools II” contest. Entrants also specifically agree to be bound by the Wizards decisions regarding this program and all decisions shall be final.

2. The contest will begin on Monday, September 17, 2007 and conclude on Friday, October 5th; all entries must be postmarked or delivered to Wizards office by close of business, 5:00pm, Friday, October 5, 2007. Any entries received after the October 5, 2007, deadline will not be considered for participation.

3. Each application must be accompanied by a letter of authorization for participation by your respective school district’s superintendent’s office on letterhead. Letter should also include to whom and where donation check should be mailed- this recipient will be held responsible for filling out and returning the required donation receipt.

4. All schools must be represented at the random drawing taking place Monday, October 29, 2007. Location to be disclosed one week prior to drawing to school official only. School representation may consist of the following; ONE – Two (1-2) school administrators, and a maximum of five (5) students. Game dates are non-transferable.

5. For every point Gilbert scores during a home Wizards game, $100 (one hundred dollars) will be donated to the school that is designated for that game. For example, if Gilbert scores 20 points, the school will be awarded $2,000. Please note some school districts have requested donation checks be written to the Schools Districts Educational Fund, if that is the case for your school, we will provide you with a copy of the check earmarked for your school use only.

6. Donations will be distributed at the conclusion of each month.

7. Donation must be allocated to your school’s choice of the following three (3) areas, technology, nutrition/health and athletic needs.

8. By entering, entrant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Washington Wizards, (and any all of their affiliates) and the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however names and described), with respect to or arising out of (i) entrant’s participation in the program, or (ii) the receipt or use of the prizes awarded herein.

9. This contest is only open to public elementary, middle, junior and senior high schools located within a 75 mile radius of the Verizon Center. A Public school is a tuition free school in the United States, which is supported by taxes and controlled by a school board.

10. For any home or away game Gilbert Arenas does not play, he and Mr. and Mrs. Pollin will donate a minimum of $1000 to the designated school.

11. Winner hereby agrees and consents, without compensation or remuneration of any kind, to the use of winners name, school’s name, student’s names and/or likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by the Washington Wizards and any and all of its affiliates and/or the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors officers, governors, employees, and agents.

12. All decisions as to contest rules and interpretations of the same are exclusively within the sole discretion of the Washington Wizards, the NBA and may be changed from time to time without notice or recourse. The Washington Wizards reserve the right to cancel or modify this contest at any time without notice or recourse.
