Read To Achieve Programs
Everybody Wins!, a mentoring program devoted to promoting children’s
literacy and a love of learning through shared reading and experiences with
adults. Employees of the Wizards and Verizon Center volunteer one lunch
hour a week to partner up with a student at Walker Jones Elementary School near the arena.

Reading Timeout, read aloud events and shared reading activities, created to get children of all ages excited about reading and to promote the value of reading and online literacy. National Poetry Month Contest: The Washington Wizards and Etan Thomas team up each year for the Annual Washington Wizards Slam-Jam Poetry Contest.
We encourage all students to express their individual personality through their writing.
