October 7, 2008 My trip to Africa was awesome. I had the time of my life meeting different people and forming bonds with so many other players around the NBA. I'm really glad that we got through Training Camp without any serious injuries. The guys are looking good, especially the young guys. They are really looking great, and I personally just can't wait to get started. See you at Verizon. Stand up, DC.
September 8, 2008 I'm so excited to be getting ready for preseason to get started and I look foward to this year being a great season. I just returned from my trip to Africa and I learned so much about the culture and history of the people in South Africa, it was a life changing experience. I'm so glad to have all of us healthy and together -- watch out east.
August 4, 2008 I’ve really enjoyed my summer so far. I hosted my first ever 3D summer explosion. It was really something special to see all of the people we brought together for some great causes. We had a skating party, and at the “Cops ‘n Kids” center I got the chance to remodel the rooms and bought computers and books. It was special to be able to do that. I truly enjoyed the bike giveaway as usual, and my family time with all of my loved ones was unbelievable. We also hosted two basketball camps this summer in the local area, and the turnout was great. We had a great time. Thanks D.M.V.

What's up, Wizards fans? This is your man -- Tough Juice. The season's over now, too soon of course, but we had an unbelievable playoff run. The time we spent battling together and seeing the guys improve on both ends of the floor was special. We stayed strong mentally and physically throughout this season, and that's something to be proud of. Our fans were off the radar too...the 'white out' at Verizon Center in the playoffs was insane. It was a great environment for the game of basketball and I just can't wait for next year to get back at it. Thanks again for all of the support and I can't wait to see you guys again next year.

What's up Wizards fans? I'm feeling much better now...we know who we are playing, we know when we are playing, and my knee is getting a lot better, so now we just have to go to work. We are familiar with our opponent. They have beaten us pretty good over the last couple of years, so it's a great time to get our core guys back to help get us over that hump. It's going to be fun.

It feels great to be back from our last road trip to the West Coast. From here on, it's just one-game trips and home games. The excitement of the playoffs is near and having Gilbert back gives us a huge lift. We were finally getting close to being whole again, but now we just need Antawn to get back soon. We still feel like we'll be real dangerous come playoff time when we're all out there together. Stay tuned. Take care, and God bless.

I'm feeling much better now after battling back from a couple of injuries. It's tough to sit and watch your teammates play without you, but we marked my return with a huge performance and a win against the Cavs on my birthday. After a game like that, the party had to be a hit, and it was. We had a good night. I was extremely proud of my teammates though while I was out. They held down the fort. D-Steve played great ball, Antonio was a great leader, and obviously 'Twan, Roger and the other guys played big minutes and performed as usual. We are really going to need everybody come playoff time, so it was good for everyone to have that experience. We just headed out West and picked up a few wins, but we need to continue to build on this wonderful season. Thanks for being there with us, and thanks for reading. God Bless.

I'm back from New Orleans, and I really had a great time at All-Star Weekend. The league put on a great show. It was one of the best I ever been a part of...going to the celebrity game and seeing Terrell Owens dunking...seeing Snoop Dogg perform live at the Players Association party...and to top the weekend off, Superman Dwight Howard put on one of the best shows ever in the dunk contest. I truly had a great time down there, and it was extra special because I was there with my family, my Wizards family, and Antawn. Congrats to Antawn Jamison and the East team for winning the game!

Wow...I'm going to the All-Star game for the second year in a row. It's truly a blessing. First and foremost, I want to thank the fans so much for supporting me through everything since the minute I got here. I've been accepted with open arms by the fans and by the whole Wizards organization. A big thanks for everything! I'm truly honored to represent you all at the All-Star game. Our team has been playing real good basketball lately. The guys are really elevatiing their games to new heights. Personally, I'm just trying to get back on the court at 100%. I've been nursing a hip strain, but I know I will be back at full strength sooner than later. That's it for now. I just can't wait to go to New Orleans. Once again, thanks for all of the love and support!

One my biggest events last month happened back in Racine, WI -- my hometown. I gave out 300 turkeys at the Bray Center out there. Obviously I wasn't there, but my family was there. It was an awesome event, as was the bike giveaway that I had here at The Salvation Army. I usually give out a lot of bikes every year, but this was the first time bringing it here to The District. The kids loved the bikes. One hundred kids and families walked away with a huge smile, so it was great for me to see that. As for my Xmas, I just enjoyed spending it with my family. My 3-year-old now understands what Christmas is, so it makes it really fun. I also sponsored a coat giveaway in which the fans brought coats to the game. They came with so many coats. It was really a great turnout. On the court, the team is doing great. We are playing inspired basketball -- but we have to keep it up. Until next time...peace.

My Thanksgiving was great. My mom and my wife's grandmother were here, and my little brother came from college. It was real nice to have them. I also just had the opportunity to meet the winners of the 3D competition and see how they apply the D's in their everyday life. That really touched me. As for the Wizards, Earl Monroe's jersey was just retired. It was a great night to be a part of. He was a player that I always liked, so it was a real honor to meet him. Off the court, I can't wait for Xmas with the family. We're going to buy a tree today.
Enjoy the Caron Butler Basketball Classis at Coolidge High.
Rest in peace Sean Taylor.
I'm out.

The preseason was great because of what we saw from the rookies -- Nick, Dom and Pesh. They had a great training camp and a good preseason. They played quality minutes, and we really saw a lot of great things from them. It's something for them to build on. As for the season, we got off to a slow start, but we will be fine. The guys are really just beginning to find their flow, and it's coming along slowly but surely. Practice continues to be intense, so that's a good sign. Until next time...peace.

Camp has really been great this year. I've had a great time bonding with the new fellas and building a growing chemistry with the old ones. The best thing about camp is watching the young fellas grow up and mature on the fly. Nick (Nick Young), Dom (Dominic McGuire), Pesh (Oleksiy Pecherov) and Dre (Andray Blatche) are all becoming men fast and learning the speed and tempo of the NBA. It's been fun. Until next time -- Holla.

OK...this is what I did this summer. It started off with a lot of rehabbing from my hand injury. When I got to 100%, then I began to focus in on my community work. First, I went to visit a reading center called Cops-N-Kids in my home town of Racine. After that, I had my 2nd annual bike giveaway. With Walmart's support, we gave away 500 bikes in the Racine inner city. They even rewarded me with my own day -- June 8th in Racine was officially Caron Butler Day. I was also the Parade Marshal in the July 4th parade. The NBA gave me the Community Assist Award in August, and we donated the $5000 to the Cops-N-Kids learning center.
We had some fun in Racine too. When I was there in June, I threw a big graduation party for my little brother. It featured Little Scrappy and 1,000 people showed up. For Racine, it was easily the best party the city had ever seen because there was no violence. It should always be that way.
I was back there again in September, and I just got back from giving away 750 coats in Racine at a middle school called Gilmore. It was my second coat giveaway in the program -- Caron's Coats for Kids.
What else? I went to see Bernard Hopkins fight Winky Wright in Las Vegas. I went to Puerto Rico with my wife, and Disney too, so it was a great summer.
