Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you provide transportation?
A: No, parents are required to bring their child to camp, check them in and also check them out each day.
Q: What kind of supervision do campers receive?
A: Parents are required to sign-in and sign-out their child each camp day. Campers are always under the supervision of the on-site director or their own coach throughout the day.
Q: Who are the coaches?
A: The coaches are from throughout the Greater Washington area with different levels of experience - professional, college, high school, and middle school.
Q: Who are the guest speakers?
A: We strive to have a guest speaker each day including visits from current and former Wizards and Mystics players/coaches and support staff. The duration and number of visits is dependent on availability and will vary camp-by-camp.
Q: What does my child need to bring to camp?
A: Each camper should be dressed appropriately to participate in basketball activities - i.e. sneakers, shorts, and t-shirt. We will provide water, but ask that each camper bring his/her own water bottle. We also recommend that all campers bring a book bag or duffle bag that can hold all of their personal belongings. However, we will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Q: Can my child bring electronic games, MP3 players, television, etc.?
A: There will not be down time throughout the day for these items so we do not recommend bringing them. We recommend not bringing anything of value as we will also not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
Q: Is there any medical/training staff at the camp?
A: There will be a certified health director on duty at all times.
Q: Will my child be at a disadvantage if he is not very good?
A: Campers are assigned to groups/leagues based on both age & ability. We try to keep each team to a maximum of 10 players and each camper will play the same amount of time in each game. Our camp also offers exclusive NBA & WNBA game night experience opportunities that are available to all campers. Besides learning basketball skills, campers have the opportunity to learn from real professional game night broadcasting and game operation crew. There is something for everyone!
Q: Can I cancel my registration?
A: You will not receive a refund if you cancel your registration. Campers who are forced to cancel or leave camp due to an illness or injury must provide a written request with a doctor's note in order to receive a prorated refund based on the number of days spent at camp. There are no refunds if your child voluntarily leaves camp.
Q: May I change my session?
A: If notified in advance, we will do our best to accommodate your request to change your session. However, we can not guarantee that there will be an opening at your location of choice.
