If you’ve been on the internet at all over the past two weeks or so, chances are you’ve come across what has become known as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. People across the country and throughout the world have joined in on the campaign, dousing themselves in frigid water in an effort to bring awareness to the debilitating motor neuron disease. There’s also an accompanying donation element, and as of Wednesday the ALS Association has reported receiving $22.9 million in donations as a result of the challenge since it kicked off on July 29.
