|Warriors Host Season Ticket Holder Fan Fest
Warriors Players, Coaches Among Those Saying Thanks To Some Of The Most Dedicated Fans In The NBA
Prior to the event, Warriors Season Ticket Holders lined up outside of ORACLE Arenaís east entrance. Decked out in their favorite Warriors gear, the fans were truly excited to see and meet some of their favorite players.
Upon entering the building, many of the fans were drawn to the court. Less than 24 hours after the Warriors posted their 41st victory of the season, many of the Season Ticket Holders who were cheering on the team the night before suddenly found themselves taking jumpshots on the hardwood themselves. With several players and assistant coaches looking on, the Season Ticket Holders took part in several shooting competitions on the Warriors home floor.
Just off the court, several more games were taking place, as Al Harrington, Matt Barnes and Brandan Wright were each on hand to display their video game skills. Many fans challenged their favorite players on the video game circuit, and letís just say there were some mixed results. In addition to the video games, several more attractions graced the floor level, including visits from Wright, Austin Croshere, Kosta Perovic, Thunder and the Warrior Girls.
Although any fans made their way to the court, the Courtside Club proved to be another hot spot. With Stephen Jackson and Monta Ellis on hand to pose for pictures, sign autographs and meet their fans, the Courtside Club proved to be a popular hangout throughout the event.
The Mezzanine Club was another hotspot during Fan Fest. While there, Season Ticket Holders were able to enjoy a series of Chalk Talks with several current and former Warriors greats. Baron Davis and Andris Biedrins headlined the series, and fans also got to hear from Assistant Coach Sidney Moncrief, Warriors legends Alvin Attles and Nate Thurmond, and broadcasters Jim Barnett, Bob Fitzgerald and Tim Roye.
Upstairs on the Club 200 concourse, Kelenna Azubuike ran the Hot Shots exhibit in the Kids Zone. Also in the Club 200, Season Ticket Holders had their chance to have their photo taken with Warriors rookies Marco Belinelli and C.J. Watson. Although professional photographers were on hand, the always-entertaining Mickael Pietrus soon took over the camera. Pietrusí antics didnít stop there, either, as he also made cotton candy for those dwelling in the Club 200.
The fun-filled day continued with the players and coaches being introduced onto the court. Head Coach Don Nelson drew a warm welcome from the crowd, and he returned the favor with several kind words to the Warriors faithful.
With all of the players lined up side by side, Warriors radio broadcaster went down the row and conducted a humorous Q-and-A session with each one of them. The curtain then closed on Fan Fest, but not before Al Harrington thanked the Season Ticket Holders for their continued support and told them to get ready for the 2008 NBA Playoffs.
