Warriors' Make-A-Wish Holiday Party
December 22, 2010
The Warriors hosted a special Holiday Party for 20 kids from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and their families on December 22nd.
The event took place at the Warriors Practice Facility, which for a day was morphed into a giant playground with a number of activities.
The kids got to be kids, complete with lots of silliness
and pure unbridled joy.
With the children suffering from various life-threatening illnesses and diseases, the opportunity to spend an evening with the Warriors provided a great escape.
Among the attractions on hand was a photo booth ...
a tattoo station
a number of games and much more.
The kids got to enjoy all of the activities alongside some of their favorite Warriors.
Comcast SportsNet Bay Area had a booth set up where the event guests could try their hand at broadcasting
and Chronicle Live was filmed live at the event with several Warriors guests.
Several Warriors spent time with the kids from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, including Monta Ellis
David Lee, Head Coach Keith Smart
Assistant Coach Stephen Silas
and the Warrior Girls.
Along with their families, the kids got to a enjoy a well-deserved day of fun.
They got to try things theyve never experienced before
and visit with some of their favorite basketball players.
The Warriors and Make-A-Wish Holiday Party was part of the teams annual Season of Giving.
Throughout the months of November and December, the Warriors will reach out to more than 5,000 kids and their families in an effort to brighten their holiday season.
Judging by the infinite amount of smiles throughout the day, the Warriors and Make-A-Wish succeeded in bringing some much-deserved joy to their lives.
A special thank you goes out to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area for their participation in this event
and to all of the vendors who donated food and resources to us to make this event a giant success, including Fresh Catering, Fentons Creamery, Event Magic, Family Fun Airbrush Tattoos and Bay Area Arcades.
And a huge thank you to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for its ongoing effort to give hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The Warriors wish all of these special kids the happiest of holidays and a full and healthy recoveries from their illnesses.
