Warriors Bake Sale, Presented By Lucky
March 14, 2010
On March 14, the Warriors and Lucky Supermarkets teamed up to fight childhood hunger.
The Warriors and Lucky collaborated on the Warriors Bake Sale at a Lucky Supermarket in San Ramon.
During the event, fans purchased player autographed cakes, with all proceeds benefiting Share Our Strength, a national organization that serves to make sure that no child in America grows up hungry.
Several Warriors attended the event at Lucky to meet and mingle with the fans.
The players were also put to work in a variety of typical Lucky Supermarkets positions.
Store customers were pleasantly surprised to see the Warriors hard at work at Lucky.
The event drew some of the most devoted Warriors fans to the store.
In addition, Warriors Legend Alvin Attles was there to meet fans and sign autographs ...
... as was Hall of Famer Nate Thurmond.
Meanwhile, C.J. Watson made a few in-store announcements for Lucky customers.
Ronny Turiaf took over the store's bakery and made some garlic bread.
Stephen Curry and Reggie Williams tested their skills in making desserts ...
... and Anthony Morrow bagged groceries for the store's customers.
Outside the store, a section of the parking lot was converted into an interactive Kids' Zone with a number of activities.
Warriors public address announcer Matt Hurwitz was also outside hosting a raffle.
Some kids participated in the raffle by reading aloud the winning numbers.
Raffle winners took home special Warriors prizes and had their photos taken with the Warrior Girls.
Back in the store, the Warriors, Lucky employees and store customers all gathered to sing "Happy Birthday" to Stephen Curry, who was celebrating his 22nd birthday.
From customers mingling with the Warrior Girls ...
... to the Warriors players being hard at work ...
... to getting autographs from Warriors legends ...
... everyone involved in the event had A Great Time Out with the Warriors and Lucky Supermarkets.
And best of all, the Warriors Bake Sale helped raise much needed funds for a very worthy cause.
The Warriors thank their Corporate Partner Lucky Supermarkets for making this an extraordinary event.
