A very special evening took place at Oracle Arena on Monday night, as the Warriors honored one of the greatest players in franchise history.
The night belonged to Chris Mullin ...
... and the team celebrated the Warriors legend with a ceremony retiring his iconic No.17.
The tribute to Mullin took place before, during and after the game.
Included in the evening's festivities was a Chris Mullin bobblehead giveaway to the first 10,000 fans, courtesy of Esurance.
The occasion attracted some of the Warriors' all-time greats, including Mullin's former teammates ...
... and the other Warriors legends that had their numbers retired in years past.
Mullin's family was also there to take part in the special evening.
At halftime of the game, former Warriors broadcaster Greg Papa emceed the ceremony and introduced several special guests.
Among those receiving the loudest ovations were Mullin's Run TMC running mates, Mitch Richmond and Tim Hardaway.
Each speaker, including Warriors legend Alvin Attles, couldn't talk about Mullin without mentioning his tireless work ethic.
Mullin was truly thankful for all the kind words, and he showed his appreciation to his former teammates, past Warriors legends and of course the fans.
Mullin delivered his speech in front of other Warriors greats who have had their jersey retired by the Warriors, including Attles (16), Rick Barry (24), Barbara Lewis (sister of Wilt Chamberlain (13)), Tom Meschery (14) and Nate Thurmond (42).
Mullin's daughter, Kiera, helped count down the final seconds to the unveiling of Mullin's retired 17.
As for the game itself, the Warriors fell short in a 97-93 loss to the Timberwolves.
David Lee had a big night with 25 points and nine rebounds in the defeat.
Playing his first home game as a Warrior, Richard Jefferson had 19 points off the bench.
Nate Robinson tallied 13 points and seven assists.
Kevin Love helped lead the Timberwolves to the win with 36 points and 17 rebounds.
The Warriors will now have a day off before opening a two-game road trip against the New Orleans Hornets.
