Six members of the Warrior Girls, the dance team of the Golden State Warriors, are traveling to Tokyo, Japan, to take part in the 2010 Final Four of the Japanese Professional Basketball League from May 20-23, the team announced today.

As part of their upcoming trip, the dance team members will host dance clinics for local children and also perform at each of the four games to be played as part of the league’s playoffs. This marks the eighth international trip for the Warrior Girls and their third trip to Japan.

The Warrior Girls most recent international trip came last September when team members traveled to Italy to take part in the 2009 NBA Jam Van Europe Tour. Last May the Warrior Girls traveled to Ariake, Japan, to perform at the Championship of the Japanese Professional Basketball League. In October of 2008, the Warrior Girls visited China when Golden State played two preseason games in the cities of Guangzhou and Beijing as part of NBA China 2008. Previously, the Warriors Girls became the first NBA dance team to perform in Japan as part of NBA Madness 2005 in Tokyo. In 2004, members of the dance team appeared at the NBA official 3-on-3 tournament in Mexico, and in 2003 the Warriors Girls were part of successful NBA promotional tours through China and the Philippines.
