Warriors Sign Season Ticket Holder Wilmer Tejada
Richmond Resident Returns for 3rd Season Under Risk-Free Renewal Agreement
The Golden State Warriors have signed season ticket holder Wilmer Tejada for the 2011-12 season, co-owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber announced today. A member to the greatest fan base in all of professional sports, Tejada came to terms on a risk-free agreement that will ensure his place at Oracle Arena next season.
“This renewal plan is just one small example of our commitment to our shareholders,” said Lacob. “We owe it to our incredible fans, like Wilmer, to raise our level of expectations for this organization and to perform at the highest level in all possible phases.”
A native of Richmond, Tejada has been a Warriors season ticket holder since 2009 and recalls last season’s game vs. Boston on December 28, 2009 – Monta Ellis scored 37 points and led Golden State to a 103-99 victory over the Celtics - as his most memorable Warriors game. Tejada, based on his in-game experiences at Warriors game, feels that there are no better fans in the NBA.
“I think the fans are great. They are the best in the league,” Tejada said.
“I’m really excited to watch the team for another season,” said Tejada, who lists his favorite player as Stephen Curry. “He has stepped his game up and has improved a lot of his game as a sophomore.”
“We feel very fortunate to retain a fan like Wilmer for the upcoming season,” said Guber. “Wilmer is a valued member of our organization, and one of the key components to the unmatched atmosphere at Oracle Arena. Our goal is to honor and reward our fans’ loyalty in every way possible.”
As a renewed season ticket holder, Tejada was automatically entered for the chance to win prizes at a recent Warriors game, including the opportunity to shoot a half court shot for $10,000 cash. See a video recap of his experience below, including the prize package he chose.
