Warriors Sign Season Ticket Holder Matthew Dreyer
San Francisco Resident Returns For Fourth Season Under Risk-Free Renewal Agreement
OAKLAND, CA – The Golden State Warriors have signed season ticket holder Matthew Dreyer for the 2011-12 season, co-owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber announced today. A member of the greatest fan base in all of professional sports, Dreyer came to terms on a risk-free agreement that will ensure his place at Oracle Arena next season.
“This renewal plan is just one small example of our commitment to our shareholders,” said Lacob. “We owe it to our incredible fans, like Matthew, to raise our level of expectations for this organization and to perform at the highest level in all possible phases.”
A resident of San Francisco, Dreyer has been a Warriors season ticket holder since 2008 and considers Sleepy Floyd – he of the 29-point fourth quarter outburst against the Lakers in the 1987 playoffs - as his all-time favorite Golden State player. Dreyer attends over 20 games each season and, based on his observations, believes the Warriors’ fan base is the best in the NBA.
“I’m really excited to be back for another season as a season ticket holder,” said Dreyer, who lists the Warriors’ big win over Orlando on March 11 as the most exciting game of the season. “As this team has shown this year, we can beat anyone at home. Just look at the Orlando game, the Chicago game. We just need to keep building.”
A former resident of Irvine, California who spent part of his college days watching the Showtime Lakers, Dreyer considers Stephen Curry his favorite current player on the roster.
“Stephen Curry embodies everything that this team currently stands for,” said Dreyer. “He’s young, energetic, has a great personality and is a great piece for our future.”
“We feel very fortunate to retain a fan like Matthew for the upcoming season,” said Guber. “Matthew is a valued member of our organization, and one of the key components to the unmatched atmosphere at Oracle Arena. Our goal is to honor and reward our fans’ loyalty in every way possible.”
As a renewed season ticket holder, Matthew was automatically entered for the chance to win prizes at a recent Warriors game, including the opportunity to shoot a half court shot for $10,000 cash. See a video recap of Matthew's experience below, including the prize package he chose.
