Warriors Sign First Round Pick Anthony Randolph
Warriors First Round Pick Was 14th Overall Selection

The Golden State Warriors have signed Anthony
Randolph, whom the club selected with the
14th overall selection in last month’s NBA Draft, to a contract,
Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced
today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Randolph, who celebrates his 19th birthday today (born July 15, 1989), was an early entry candidate for the NBA Draft after playing one season at LSU, where he averaged 15.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.13 steals and 2.26 blocks in 31 contests (all starts). He ranked third in the Southeastern Conference in rebounding and blocked shots, while also ranking 12th in scoring.
The 6’10’’ forward is currently playing on the Warriors’
Summer League team at the 2008 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
In his professional debut last Friday (July 11), he registered 30
points (12-18 FG, 6-7 FT) and eight rebounds to help guide the Warriors
to a 96-89
victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. In two summer league games
thus far, Randolph is averaging 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.50
assists, 1.50 steals and 1.50 blocks in 28.5 minutes, while shooting
56.7% (17-30 FG) from the field and 87.5% (7-8 FT) from the free
Golden State’s summer league team has three games remaining in Las Vegas before heading to Salt Lake City to play four games in the Rocky Mountain Revue.
