Joins Head Coach Mark Jackson’s Staff With Six Years Of NBA Coaching Experience; Darren Erman Promoted

The Golden State Warriors have hired Bob Beyer as an assistant coach, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced. Additionally, the team has promoted Darren Erman to assistant coach.
Beyer joins the Warriors with 23 years of coaching experience, including six years in the NBA. He has spent the last five seasons (2007-12) as an assistant coach with the Orlando Magic, during which time the team compiled a 259-135 (.657) regular-season mark, including four-consecutive seasons with 50-or-more wins (2007-11). While Beyer was in Orlando, the Magic also earned five-consecutive playoff appearances, three-straight Southeast Division titles (2007-10), two Eastern Conference Finals appearances (2009 & 2010) and a trip to the 2009 NBA Finals.

Prior to Orlando, Beyer spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Dayton after serving as an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors in 2003-04 before working as an advance scout during the 2004-05 campaign.

A native of LeRoy, NY, Beyer spent two seasons (2001-03) as an assistant coach at Texas Tech under Bob Knight. Prior to joining the Red Raiders, he was an assistant at Northwestern for three seasons (1997-2000). From 1994-97, Beyer was the head coach at Siena College and also served as an assistant coach at Wisconsin (1993-94), Siena (1989-93) and Albany (1985-89).

Erman joined the Warriors prior to the 2011-12 season as an assistant coach/player development. With his promotion, he takes the place of Wes Unseld Jr., who spent one season with the Warriors and is now with the Orlando Magic.
