The Warriors played well for three quarters before fading in the final period, dropping a 106-118 decision to the Los Angeles Clippers on 7/14. Troy Murphy was nearly flawless shooting the ball and led Golden State with a team-high 30 points (11-12 FG, 1-1 3FG, 7-8 FT). Jason Richardson pitched in 21 points (7-15 FG, 2-5 3FG, 5-6 FT) in 43 minutes, while Mike Dunleavy added 13 points (6-16 FG, 0-3 3FG, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 42 minutes. Jiri Welsch filled the stat sheet with 11 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3FG, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, four assists and three steals in 26 minutes off the bench. The Warriors owned a 30-26 lead after the first quarter, a 55-53 advantage at the half and led 86-82 heading into the final quarter. For the game, Golden State shot 51.3% (40-78 FG) from the field, but only 28.6% (4-14 3FG) from long range and 68.8% (22-32 FT) from the line. The Warriors made six steals and forced 22 Clipper turnovers.
