BUCKS
(5-2)

Playing the third game of a five-game road trip, the Warriors fell in a 129-124 contest in Milwaukee on Saturday night. In what is sure to be looked back upon as one of the most exciting games of the season, the Warriors scored 42 points in the fourth quarter and took the Bucks down to the wire, but it was not enough to overcome the 55-point performance by Milwaukee rookie Brandon Jennings. Monta Ellis scored a team-leading 26 points, while Corey Maggette and Stephen Jackson finished with 25 and 21, respectively. Golden State shot 56.1% from the field and had a total of six players score in double figures. The team will now have two days off before facing the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Tuesday.

QUOTES

Don Nelson
On Tonight's Game:
“My team played well and competed so I was proud of the way we played. We certainly had a chance at that one. I think we felt good about ourselves. We stayed in (the game), we were right there. We even had a one point lead late. No complaints about our guys and the way we played.”

On Brandon Jennings:
“Well, what a performance. Holy smokes. I think that’s probably the best rookie performance I’ve ever witnessed in thirty-some years of coaching. We tried to handle him every way possible really. He had quite a game.”

On the final play for the Warriors:
“That was a look to see if we had a three that we could get open and Monta (Ellis) had the ball, and if he didn’t like that I just wanted him to go to the basket. I thought he could beat his guy into the paint somewhere. It was a look that we wanted. If it was open we wanted to go ahead and shoot it to go from two down to one up.”

Anthony Morrow
On the final play for the Warriors:
“Obviously it was a tough shot. It was a contested shot but I felt like on a fake and pass to Corey (Maggette), I came back off, I felt like I had a real good look. It was a tough situation coming off the bench. I was thinking get the win, but at the time that was the best shot.”

On Kelenna Azubuike’s injury:
“That was awful. I feel like me and (Azubuike) have a great relationship. Being in similar situations, being undrafted, he’s a man of God just like I am. I just immediately started to pray for him, and I pray it’s not too serious of a knee injury because he’s been playing real well.”

Corey Maggette
On Tonight's Game:
“It was a great performance. It was a well-fought effort, but Jennings got hot. That was such a great performance. I don’t know if anyone’s done that since Magic. It’s been a long time since anyone has done that as a rookie. He won the game for his team.”
