Don Nelson
On tonight's game
"We played pretty darn well. Our lack of free throws beat us tonight and it’s disheartening because we played well enough to win the game. It’s been a weak part of this team for a while, but we work pretty hard at it ... I sure enjoyed coaching this game. Win or lose, it was pretty exciting."
On Baron Davis and Monta Ellis
"I played them a lot. We have five days off so I could burn them up and they would get plenty of rest time. I just tried to do what I could to win the game and I thought that was the best lineup."
On Kelenna Azubuike
"It was his best all-around game I think. He was so dominant in the rebounding game. I’m so proud of the way he is playing and the major step he has made to get to this level. He’s a good NBA player. He guards and rebounds well and he understands, and if he doesn’t understand he learns it. He’s a delight."
On the team
"After our long East Coast road trip and once we get Jackson back, we’ll evaluate after 20 games to see where we are and how we are doing. Other teams are playing well, too. Instead of shooting for two spots (in the West), we may only have one (playoff) spot ... We will win some games if we play like we did tonight consistently. I was very pleased with our performance."

Baron Davis
On the team's free-throw shooting
"It’s something we need to correct. We need to get to the line and we need to knock those free throws down. Because those are points, those are free points. They made theirs, we missed ours. And in the end, we wouldn’t be fighting for that loose ball and hoping they miss. But we are getting better, we had a better effort tonight."
On the team
"A lot of people will start counting us out. I wouldn’t do that. I mean, it’s five games into the season. We got off to a bad start, but this team is capable of winning five games in a row, 10 games in a row. But we just got to get better. It’s a long season, a really long season. Dallas was 0-4 last year. We just need to lock in ... We are in a better rhythm, but we can still play a lot better. It’s just a matter of time, so we have to be patient."

Al Harrington
On tonight's game
"When you get to this point and you are 0-and-whatever, every little thing seems like it goes wrong. We did everything we were supposed to do for the most part and we played a very tough game. Everybody did their part. We played extremely hard, but the free-throw line killed us. If we make half of those free throws, we win this game."
On the rivalry with Dallas
"You know the rivalry is there. They have the same core guys (from last year), and we do as well. Everybody knows what happened last year, and they came in trying to make a statement that to them last year was a fluke. But it’s only one game and I think we'll see them three more times, so it will be an ongoing battle."
