Keith Smart
On Winning A Low-Scoring Game:
Like I saw all the time, at the end of the year the bottom line is going to be did you win or did you lose? It was good that we won a close game. It got tight, and we made some plays. But I was proud because we couldnt make a shot, could not make shot. Yet we were up by one point at halftime. Our defense was really engaged to take away paint scores from this basketball team (Utah Jazz). I just thought the way we rebounded, and you have to rebound against this team to have a chance because if you dont they will eat you alive on the glass. I thought the way our two big guys have done it thus far this year, they rebound the basketball.

On The Team's Defense:
We have a saying D.T.W. Defense travels well We werent down by 10, 15 points. Our defense kept us close. At some point somebody is going to make a shot, well get to the foul line and thats what we did Opening Night. And we knew that was going to be a high scoring game without Yao Ming, and yet to come back in this game and know we would have to defend the paint and if we did that we knew we would have a chance to win the game and we did that.

Monta Ellis
On The Upcoming Road Trip:
This is going to be our biggest test right here when we go on the road. We have five games in seven days so its a big test for us. Its the first time were going on a road trip and there are some winnable games. We just have to play like we did tonight. Also continue to play hard as a team with scrappy defense and come out with a successful road trip.

On Coach Smart Emphasizing Defense:
We have been focused on defense for the past few years. Its just that we have more guys that feed into it and guys that are willing to play defense. Coach continues to tell us to play defense, even though our offense wasnt going well tonight we stuck around with our defense. At the end of the game we made shots and made plays and won the game.

Andris Biedrins
On Winning With Defense:
I think it says a lot. Thats what weve been practicing since training camp. Its finally starting to pay off. Like coach said at half time we were only shooting 32 percent but we were up one point and it was due to our defense. Defense would get us the lead. I thought everybody enjoyed that. We could win with our (defense) because it was not our night for our shots to go down.

On Playing Alongside David Lee:
Its been real easy since training camp to play with each other. We understand our roles on offense and defense. We will always help each other. It really feels like we have been playing with each other for a long time. He makes my job easier.
