Don Nelson
On tonight's game:
“Well it’s been a long time since we won a game here they tell me. I haven’t been here that long but it’s always a tough win here, it always has been, no matter what team I have been coaching and we were pretty jubilant at halftime and I told them relax, I have been in this position before, they are the Lakers, they will come back. But I didn’t expect them to get it all back in one quarter. As bad as they were the first half, we were that bad, I thought, in the second half. We went away from what was good for us, the things I was calling and just started playing differently; certainly wasn’t my decision to play different than what got us the lead but we had enough to hang on and make some huge shots down the stretch. They had to exert a lot of energy to get back into the game and often times that will give you some openings in the fourth quarter.”
On Kobe Bryant:
“I thought we did as good of a job as we could defensively on him and he’s my vote for MVP. He’s the best of the best and deserves the award more than, I think, anybody else and I hope he gets it. He’s a marvelous player, makes everybody else better. There isn’t anything that he doesn’t do. He’s a pretty sensational player, I have enjoyed watching him all these years and I have enjoyed coaching him in one All-Star game when he got MVP.”
On Stephen Jackson:
“We needed him. He has made big shots for us all year, I don’t know how he does it. We put him in a good position where he was open; Baron found him one time, maybe even both times. We were trying to attack certain scenarios and that one got him open but not only do you need to get open but you need to makes shots when you get open and he certainly did that.”

Stephen Jackson
On his clutch shooting:
“I hate that it came down to that, I think we got a little too complacent with that lead, we should’ve known that Kobe was going to come back and take over and bring this team back. We could get shots, but the biggest thing was that in the third quarter we walked the ball up and they ran. We got the lead by running. We found a way to win, it shows the growth of this team from last year, and it was ugly but we still won.”
On tonight's game:
“I can’t remember the last time we won here. Considering what’s at stake, considering that every game counts at this point and we have to be playing with a sense of urgency, we almost let it go, but like I said we found a way to win.”
On the emotional swing between the second and third quarters:
“It was big. I think last year we would’ve all had our heads down, gave up our confidence, and gave up our fight. Calls weren’t going our way, they were hitting shots, we were missing shots, but you know, this team wants it bad. We respect the Lakers, great team, they’re having a great year, but we just wanted this game because we needed it more than they did.”
On tomorrow's game against the Lakers:
“I have to give all I have. Like I said, it’s going to be hard. It’s really hard in the NBA to beat a team twice in a row, especially the Lakers, so we have to be on our A-game, we can’t have letdowns like we did today.”
On the Lakers playing off him at the end of the game:
“If they don’t, then Baron’s going to get to the basket. Al’s on the other side, so they have to give up a shot to somebody. I think a lot of games this year, at the end of games, teams make a lot of mistakes as far as when Baron penetrates they go help but leave me. I just think I was able to knock them down tonight, but I have to make plays for my team. That’s my job, they depend on me to do it, and thank God I was able to hit them tonight.”

Baron Davis
On tonight's game:
“They (Lakers) came back, it was a big win, Jackson made some big shots, we needed that. We had a big lead, and I really think we slowed the ball like we should, and our offense got a little stagnant in the third quarter. We couldn’t really get our tempo, we couldn’t really catch our tempo and our rhythm. In the fourth quarter we were able to do that, sustain the lead, and finish the game strong.”
