Warriors Rally Falls Just Short
The Warriors mounted a furious second half comeback that came up just short on Friday, falling in a 107-103 contest versus the Celtics in Boston. After trailing by 18 points, the Warriors came back to cut the Celtics lead to just one point in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics managed to hang on for the victory. Monta Ellis helped keep the Warriors close, scoring 41 points on 13-24 shooting from the field. The effort marked his fourth 40-point game of the season, and the eighth of his career. Davd Lee tallied 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Dorell Wright scored 11. Golden State outrebounded Boston 39-28 and shot 47.6% from the floor. The Warriors will now head to Philadelphia, where they will play the 76ers on Sunday in their fifth game of a seven-game road trip.

Tim Roye's Game Recap

Keith Smart
On tonight's game:
I just thought they played hard. Our intensity level went up, this was probably David Lees best game both offensively, and he did a great job defensively, and thats what Im saying to our guys who havent been pushed to play defense, he did a great job with that. But I just thought our intensity level went up, we became the aggressors. I thought Vlad came in and did a great job with his intensity up on the floor, pressuring the ball. I just thought of course Monta made some great shots. All of our guys did a good job on the floor. Our bench came in and kept our starters somewhat fresh to keep the game to where it didnt get away from us."

On turnovers:
You know on the road against a great team, not a good team, a great team you cant give them opportunities when you turn it over and give it back to them. We need a turnover that will go up into the stands where we can go back and get set. We had too many turnovers early in the game where it lead to their breaks. You cant turn it over, especially not in crunch time, you cant turn the ball over because this team is going to capitalize. We got two, three guys who are going to capitalize on those things. And they got a great little point guard whos going to understand the flow of the game. But were a young team and were growing, and hopefully one day, well be in that position where our big three and big four can help us close games the way this team here does.

On whether it was a teachable moment:
Oh yes always teachable, you got a chance to play against a team thats probably going to have a shot to be in the finals. Look what we did here, look at the intensity you had. If you can play with that same intensity, thats what the good teams do. The good teams play with an intensity all the time, sometimes they have a little moment where theyre not engaged, but good teams do that. So thats what you teach from, how can you have that level where you come into another teams building and keep this game under control with a chance to win it

David Lee
On tonight's game:
I was happy with the way our guys competed tonight. No moral victories, were upset we lost. We had some chances there at the end, we didnt convert. But if we play this way all the time were going to win a lot of the games we have left. We just talked about continuing to plug away. We knew we were underdogs here on the road, and theyre a very good home team, but we just had to keep competing on ever position on offense and defense. Just keep getting stops and just executing on offense. They do a great job of pushing you out of your offense with their pressure defense. We found a way to get some easy buckets by countering the backdoors and doing some different things and running. So no moral victories but we have to learn from this and continue to play the way we did tonight

On defending Kevin Garnett:
Well I just tried to force him off the block as much as I could and make his catches difficult. Hes a guy who lives and dies a lot by the 15 footer and tried to somewhat stay attached to him so he didnt get too many open looks. But Rondos very good at finding those guys, but theyve played with each other for awhile so they know where each other are and make the plays

Stephen Curry
On the key to the comeback:
Just not quitting, staying aggressive. Monta made a lot of great plays for us to get back in it. Defensively, they tried to slow it down, we got stops and some rebounds, made some timely baskets. That helped us get back into it, just a couple lost possessions and offensive rebounds, that was it

On the frustration of losing:
Yeah we know what were capable of, its just frustrating where they go on those 8-0, 10-0 runs especially on the road where they get the crowd into it and get a comfort level. You take a lot of energy to get back in the game, if we eliminate those little stretches, were in it the whole way, not having to claw our way back and make it interesting
