Warriors Fall Against Boston
After a thrilling first half that saw the teams tied at 60, the Warriors were unable to keep up with the Celtics in the second half, falling in a 115-93 contest at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night. With the home crowd buzzing, Golden State gave Boston all it could handle in the first half and looked poised to defeat the Celtics for the seventh-straight time in Oakland, but Boston used a big third quarter run to help push the game in their favor. Dorell Wright led the Warriors with 19 points and six rebounds, going 8-16 from the floor. Stephen Curry scored 18 points, David Lee scored 17 and Monta Ellis had 15. Ekpe Udoh played 26 impressive minutes off the bench against one of the top front courts in the NBA and finished the night with six points, six rebounds and three blocked shots. The Warriors will now have two days off before hosting the Atlanta Hawks in another Hardwood Classics contest that also features a Family & Friends offer.

Tim Roye's Game Recap

Keith Smart
On tonight's game:
Theyre the Boston Celtics. They just turned it up. I thought we stopped moving the ball, we only had four assists in the 2nd half and we kind of played in one area too long. You cant play in one area against this team too long, you have to move the ball and be decisive. We did not do that in the 2nd half. We had some open shots, but the Celtics did a good job with wrapping up their pressure. We had a good first half scoring 60 points and they went in at halftime and they knew they had to bring it up a little bit. But I think a lot of that had to do with us too. I dont think it was totally every thing that they did. I just thought we didnt move the ball like we needed to. We turned the ball over when we started the 3rd quarter and gave them a run and that just opened the gates for them.

On the Celtics Defense in the 2nd Half:
We just stood around. I think maybe the fatigue thing hit us a little bit, I dont know. We werent the same team in the 2nd half. We werent attacking the basket, attacking the rim and forcing the issue. We found ourselves kind of floating out well above the three-point line trying to make plays from there. Against this team, against Boston, when you catch the ball and hold it you have to catch it with a decisive move or decisive pass right away. You cant hold it because the floor will shrink on youone second hold the ballthe floor shrinks. Two secondshold the ballthe floor shrinks again. Now all the avenues for penetration or cuts to the basket, thats been taken away. Now your last resort is to stay at the top and you move the ball and hold again and now thats going to make it conducive for a long jump shot.

Stephen Curry
On tonight's game:
At the end of the third quarter their defensive intensity picked up a lot and we didnt have a rhythm on offense and didnt move the ball like we wanted to coming into the game. We kind of moved the ball side to side and made them play defense and not just load up to the ball, but we kind of got stagnant. We missed a lot of shots and our momentum was taken away and they made plays.

David Lee
On tonight's game:
Thats what is good about teams like that and San Antonio, they make adjustments. The pick-and-roll was hurting them in the 1st half and they changed and stayed with me on the roll and made sure we were going to take jumpshots rather than be able to get the ball to the rack like we would in the first half. I dont think we helped ourselves with some of the turnovers we had. They are a tough team when they are ahead. When theyre behind their slow pace I think that can work against them. But when they are ahead like that, they are similar to a team like San Antonio where they are going to play defense every possession and they are a good executing team offensively.

Monta Ellis
On the second half:
We turned the ball over and they converted on the other end, not much you can say about it. They played the same way in the 2nd half, but we turned the ball over too much and they got out and ran and they made open shots. I dont think they missed too many open shots, they just turned it up a notch and we werent able to get back into the game.
