Warriors Burned By Suns
Playing the back end of a back-to-back, the Warriors stumbled their way to a 112-88 loss to the Suns on Thursday night in Phoenix. Golden State lacked the energy it had during Wednesdays thrilling win over Denver and was eliminated from contention when the Suns went on a 14-0 run to end the first half. With the game decided early, the Warriors reserves played extended minutes, and no player took advantage of the opportunity more than Ekpe Udoh. The sixth pick in the 2010 NBA Draft had career-highs with 16 points and seven rebounds, and Reggie Williams continued his stretch of strong play with 16 points and six assists. The Warriors will now have two days off before returning home to host the Thunder on Sunday in a nationally televised contest that will include a Family and Friends offer at Oracle Arena.

Tim Roye's Game Recap

Keith Smart
On tonight's game:
We didnt have what we need to start the game off. We were a tired team on the floor and we didnt have what we needed and then you move on. You share with the younger players how hard it is that you have to play every night in the NBA, back to back in particular, but theres nothing you can do with it. We didnt play well to start the game off in the first half. We didnt have the energy we needed to have against this team. I thought we might have still had a shot after halftime but you could see even trying to scrap there, it was a struggle. You knew you didnt have it. We had a lot of unfinished plays in the paint and you have to finish in the paint against this team or therell be run outs. I knew going into half time and give them a little look in the third quarter and see what kind of push you have and after that, you see the juice isnt there and lets play our young guys, play the bench and go from there.

Monta Ellis
On when the game got away from them:
I dont know. They made shots and we didnt finish on the offensive end. They played a good game and they hit shots. To be honest with you, I think we do more to ourselves than anything. We cant turn the ball over, they get out and run. We miss shots and they still get out and run. Weve just got to do a better job and hold them that first quarter and hold them out to half time. After that, its at toss up.

David Lee
On when the game got away from them:
What time did the game start tonight? It was bad from the start, similar to the last game we played them. I feel like we got outplayed at all five positions from the start of the game to the end of the game ... And then they always seem to shoot the ball well against us. Conversely, offensively we dont really ever seem to play our best. I dont want to say its a bad match-up because we have one more game, and thats a game that we can win. But if we lose, then Ill agree with you and say its a bad match-up, but were not giving up that last one.
