Mark Jackson On Tonight's Game:
"I think thatís just what the doctor ordered. No sense in us running away with a win we need to learn how to win close games, we need to learn how to close people out defensively and offensively. We made mistakes, but when you put forth the energy and effort good things happen. We did a great job closing out against a very good basketball team."
On Monta Ellis Defering More:
"Monta (Ellis) did a great job of getting in the seams understanding he didnít have it offensively, meaning scoring, and the great players figure out how to impact a game even though they are not able to do what they do best. For him to have 12 assists he did an outstanding job of finding shooters and finding players in rhythm and we took advantage of the hot hand. Stephen (Curry) got it going and Monta (Ellis) was more than willing to make plays."
On Closing Out The 4th Quarter:
"We defended, we rebounded, we took care of the basketball, 33 assists and 11 turnovers, and we put ourselves in position to win the ballgame. You have to take care of the basketball and not gift transition points by turning it over and allowing teams to climb back in with layups and open threeís off of your turnovers- they hurt."
On Stephen Curry:
"Tonight he took what the defense gave him. He picked them apart in pick and roll situations, when they didnít play him he came off as a scorer, when they doubled him he put David (Lee) in position to make shots and trust that David (Lee) would make the right decisions so others would get involved. He ran the point guard position - while scoring 32 points. He got what he wanted and took control of this game and took over offensively and also trusted the system."
Stephen Curry On The Second To Last Possession:
"Thatís what good winning teams do in the fourth quarter, they make the easy play, everyone is involved and moving like that the whole game you just donít do anything differently. We had a shaky start but we kept our composure and guys made plays down the stretch."
On Monta Ellis Setting Everyone Up:
"You could tell as of late that teams are keying in on him especially when he has the ball, waiting for the pick and roll. They were loading the defense to his side. He still did a great job of attacking and making plays on the weak side where we had shooters spacing. Thatís what leaders do."
On Being Able To Clost Out Games:
"It felt good. We werenít stressing about it at all, we just knew that we had an extreme lapse of play last game. It wasnít like it was something that was burdened us the last two days. We know when we have the opportunity that we are capable of closing out games."
Dorell Wright On Whether It Was Opposite Day From Monday:
"We didnít play well last game. We just wanted to come out and protect the ball and go out there and play hard. Results show that we played hard for a whole 48 minutes and it wasnít 43 minutes. Everybody came in and contributed. The guys came off the bench and played major minutes, B-Rush (Brandon Rush), Ekpe (Udoh) and Nate (Robinson) all those guys really contributed. The starters came back in and closed the game out. It was a good win."
On Is It A Relief On Winning Today:
"No relief. We donít want to let up. We want to continue to get wins and put a little streak together. We have a good Oklahoma City team coming in here next; we just have to play those guys like we did tonight. A complete game, share the ball and come out with a win."
