Golden State Warriors forward Anthony Randolph has been invited to attend the USA Basketball Men’s National Team mini-camp in Las Vegas, NV, from July 23-25, it was announced today by USA Basketball. The mini-camp will feature practice sessions on July 23 and July 24 at Valley High School, and the mini-camp will be capped by the USA Basketball Showcase, a Blue-White intra-squad game, on Saturday, July 25, 8 p.m. (PDT) at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV.

Randolph, 20, was invited to the camp following his dominating performance at the 2009 NBA Summer League, in which he averaged a league-leading 26.8 points per game, to go along with 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.25 steals and 3.00 blocks in four games. The second-year pro shot 60.9% (39-64 FG) from the field and 74.4% (29-39 FT) from the line in summer league action. As a rookie last season and the youngest player in the NBA, Randolph appeared in 63 games, averaging 7.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.17 blocks in 17.9 minutes per contest. In 24 games when playing 20-or-more minutes, the LSU product averaged 12.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.88 blocks.

“While we look to continue to build continuity within the USA National Team program and continue to improve, in 2009 we will get a look at some of the top young NBA players who haven’t been involved in USA Basketball at the top national program level previously,” said USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo in a press release. “Although some of these players have represented USA Basketball in the past, this is their opportunity to be considered for the next generation of players who will help make up the USA Basketball National program. As was the case in 2005-08, the roster for the national team program will be fluid in 2010-2012 and we will make adjustments to the roster each year to help insure we have the strongest program and the strongest teams possible.”

Joining Randolph at the July 22-25 mini- camp are D.J. Augustin (Charlotte Bobcats); Jerryd Bayless (Portland Trail Blazers); Ronnie Brewer (Utah Jazz); Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder); Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies); Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Clippers); Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers); Jeff Green (Oklahoma City Thunder); Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers); Devin Harris (New Jersey Nets); Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers); Kyle Korver (Utah Jazz); David Lee (New York Knicks); Brook Lopez (New Jersey Nets); Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves); O.J.
