HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
There’s no place like home for the holidays, and the Warriors will have the luxury of spending Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and even Boxing Day (Dec. 26) at Oracle Arena thanks to a season-opening four-game homestand. Since moving to the Bay Area in 1962-63, the Warriors have never opened the season with more than two consecutive home games.
BACK-TO-BACK BEGINNER
The Warriors open the season with a back-to-back set for the first time since the 2001-02 season. This marks the 26th time in 50 seasons since moving to the Bay Area in 1962-63 that the Warriors will open with a back-to-back, compiling an all-time record of 21-29 in those games (7-18 in the first game, 14-11 in the second game).
MAKING HIS MARK
After a 17-year playing career in the NBA, Warriors Head Coach Mark Jackson makes his coaching debut on Sunday as the only rookie head coach in the league.
Injuries:Warriors - Stephen Curry (sprained right ankle) is day-to-day. Clippers - Eric Bledsoe (Torn right lateral meniscus) and Reggie Evans (sprained right foot) are out.
