We played well for three-quarters and then we just ran
out of gas. We have a few guys who are key
contributors and they are injured and we are asking
some guys to do some things that are really difficult.
I really feel for our locker room because I thought we
played extremely hard. Like a few games this year, we
needed a basket and we struggled to score yet again
tonight. Some of that was fatigue, but that is what
happens when you have three starters who are not
playing. We just ran out of gas yet again and we
struggled to score against a good defensive team.
We held them to 39% from the field and we
out-rebounded them and we held them to 10 assists, we
cannot ask our ball club to do any more. All we want
is maximum effort, and that is what we got.
We struggled to score (in the 4th quarter), but we
played good defense, and Brian (Cardinal) had a great
game for us.
To be honest with you, we ran open offense in the
second and third quarters, but when you run open
offense you get tired because you make hard cuts. What
happened is that we just were too tired to run open
offense late in the game.Tonight we wanted to run more
open offense, and we were effective, but then when it
became un-effective we tried to dome some
pick-and-rolls and do some other things, and then we
just could not hit shots.

I think tonight was a slow down grind it out game,
two teams who played good defense. I think we just got
a little too relaxed and we were not moving the ball
the way we should have been in the 4th quarter,
offensively. Our defense was not all that bad in the
4th quarter, we just only scored two points in the 4th
quarter, which is almost unheard of and when that
happens is makes it tough to win games.
When stuff like that happens (missing shots, turning
over the ball, etc.) you just have to be more intense
on defense. Like I said, it was just the 4th quarter,
that quarter was really bad.

We just did not execute (in the 4th quarter), I do not
think that we were tired, I think we just were not
executing the plays. Two points, that's crazy, it is
just uncalled for. We just want to win and it is just
like that sometimes (the 4th quarter). If we scored
two points (in the 4th quarter) and we won that game
we would have not cared. it is about winning.
