The Warriors made a big off-season splash with the signing of Corey Maggette on July 10.

Since the Warriors season came to a close earlier this spring, all aspects of the organization -- from the front office employees to the Warrior Girls to the players and coaches themselves -- have been hard at work in preparation for the 2008-09 campaign.

With free agent aquisitions, the NBA Draft Lottery and ensuing Draft, Summer League, Warrior Girl Auditions, and Warriors guest appearances among other things, there has hardly been a dull moment at Warriors Headquarters this off-season.

Warriors Training Camp Central

Trading Places With Southwest Airlines Employees
On Sept. 22, several Warriors players and coaches traded places with Southwest Airlines employees at Oakland International Airport. Players such as Stephen Jackson, C.J. Watson and Richard Hendrix were among those directing planes to the appropriate gates, handling luggage, scanning boarding passes and making pre-boarding and in-cabin announcements. Stephen Jackson Reading Time Out
Stephen Jackson and the Warriors hosted a Reading Time Out for more than 150 kids on September 19th at dd's DISCOUNTS Store in Oakland. With the assistance of Thunder, the Warrior Girls and a few kid volunteers, Stephen read two books to the group and handed out prizes to those who correctly answered questions about the stories.

Warriors Waive Kosta Perovic
The Golden State Warriors have waived center Kosta Perovic on September 12. Perovic, 23, was selected by the Warriors in the second round (#38 overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft. In seven games with Golden State last season, he averaged 1.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 5.4 minutes per contest. PRESS RELEASE

Warriors Sign Three Free Agents
Prior to the start of training camp, the Warriors signed signed free agent guard DeMarcus Nelson, free agent guard/forward Dion Dowell and free agent forward Rob Kurz to contracts. All three players went undrafted in the 2008 NBA Draft and participated on the Warriors Summer League team at the 2008 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City. Warriors Announce 2008-09 Broadcast Schedule
The Warriors unveiled their 2008-09 broadcast schedule, which includes 76 television appearances - including 70 local telecasts on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area - and 82 radio broadcasts on KNBR 680 or KNBR 1050. Golden State will also make eight appearances on national televsion. PRESS RELEASE

Warriors Guard Monta Ellis Undergoes Successful Surgery
Warriors guard Monta Ellis, who suffered a Grade 3 high ankle sprain, a torn deltoid ligament and a syndesmosis disruption of his left ankle on July 31, underwent successful surgery on August 7 to repair the ligament and will be sidelined a minimum of three-plus months. Ellis informed the team that he suffered the injury while working out in his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. PRESS RELEASE & VIDEO

Warriors Announce 2008 Pre-Season Schedule
The Golden State Warriors will travel to China to participate in the NBA China Games 2008 and play a pair of home games at ORACLE Arena as part of a six-game pre-season schedule leading up to the 2008-09 NBA regular season. NBA China Games 2008 will tip-off in Guangzhou on October 15 as the Warriors take on the Milwaukee Bucks in the first-ever NBA game played in Guangzhou. PRESS RELEASE

Warriors Announce 2008-09 Regular Season Schedule
The NBA released its 2008-09 regular season schedule on August 6, and the Warriors will tip-off the upcoming campaign at ORACLE Arena on Wednesday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. against the New Orleans Hornets. Additionally, the Warriors announced that the Club 200 Starting Five Mini-Plans will go on sale on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m. exclusively on warriors.com. PRESS RELEASE | VIEW SCHEDULE

Andris Biedrins Community Outreach
Shortly after re-signing with the Warriors, Andris Biedrins spent the day with some youth from the Vallejo Summer Care Program on July 31. The 22-year-old Warriors center took the kids out to pizza in Walnut Creek and also treated them to a movie.

Warriors Gas Giveaway Fueled By Kia Motors
In partnership with Kia Motors, the Warriors treated 250 cars to $40 worth of free gasoline at a Valero station in Union City on July 28. Warriors Legend Alvin Attles and the Warrior Girls were among those working the pumps, which treated patrons to free gas for more than three hours. VIEW PHOTO GALLERY

Warriors Re-Sign Andris Biedrins
On July 27, the Warriors announced that they have re-signed center Andris Biedrins to a multi-year contract. Biedrins, 22, appeared in 76 games with Golden State last season, posting career-high averages in scoring (10.5) and rebounding (9.8). Additionally, he led the NBA in field goal percentage (.626), ranked 11th in rebounds and registered a career-best 27 double-doubles. PRESS RELEASE & AUDIO

Warriors Re-Sign Monta Ellis
On July 24, the Warriors announced that they have re-signed guard Monta Ellis to a multi-year contract. Ellis, 22, averaged a career-high 20.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.53 steals in 37.9 minutes in 81 games last season. He ranked 14th in the NBA in field goal percentage (.531, 3rd among all guards), 15th in steals and 25th in scoring. PRESS RELEASE, VIDEO & AUDIO

Warriors Re-Sign Kelenna Azubuike
The Warriors matched the Clippers' offer for restricted free agent Kelenna Azubuike on July 24, meaning the guard will return to Golden State for his third season. The 24-year old Azubuike appeared in 81 games with Golden State last season, averaging career-high figures in scoring (8.1), rebounds (4.0) and minutes played (21.4).

2008-09 Warrior Girls Auditions
Auditions for the 2008-09 Warrior Girls started on Saturday, July 19, at Club Sport of San Ramon. More than 140 dancers tried out for the team, and only 36 advanced to the final round. Warriors Summer League Central
Marco Belinelli, Brandan Wright and Anthony Randolph were among those headlining the Warriors' Summer League entry, which participated in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City. Warriors Sign Rookie Forward Richard Hendrix
The Warriors officially signed Richard Hendrix, their 2008 second round selection, on July 24. The 49th overall pick in the draft, Hendrix was a first-team All-SEC performer at Alabama after averaging 17.8 points and 10.1 rebounds during his junior season. PRESS RELEASE

Warriors Acquire Guard Marcus Williams From New Jersey
The Warriors acquired guard Marcus Williams from the New Jersey Nets in exchange for a conditional first round draft choice on July 22. Williams, 22, was a member of the NBA's All-Rookie Second Team with New Jersey following the 2006-07 campaign, when he averaged 6.8 points and 3.3 assists in 79 games (16.6 mpg).

Warriors Signing Of Free Agent Ronny Turiaf Finalized
The Warriors finalized their acquisition of restricted free agent forward Ronny Turiaf on July 19. The acquisition became official when the Los Angeles Lakers declined their right to match the Warriors' offer for the restricted free agent by the end of the day on July 18. Golden State had originally signed Turiaf to the offer sheet on July 10.

Warriors Sign First Round Pick Anthony Randolph To Contract
Anthony Randolph celebrated his 19th birthday by signing his contract to play for the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors' first-round draft selection (#14 overall) officially joins the club after averaging 15.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.26 blocks during his one and only collegiate season at LSU. Warriors Sign Free Agent Corey Maggette
The Warriors made one of the biggest moves of the NBA off-season when they signed veteran swingman Corey Maggette. One of the game's top scorers and a relentless worker, the nine-year NBA veteran showed on his first night with his new team that he's bringing much more than his career averages of 16.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to the Warriors. Warriors Add Anthony Randolph & Richard Hendrix In 2008 Draft
The Warriors had one of the most successful drafts in the entire NBA, selecting LSU freshman Anthony Randolph in the first round (#14 overall) and Alabama junior Richard Hendrix in the second round (#49 overall). Warriors Unveil New Reading and Learning Center
On June 6, the Warriors, in partnership with Kelly Moore Paints, unveiled a new Reading and Learning Center at El Dorado Elementary School in San Francisco. Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Warriors legend Alvin Attles put the new facility to use right away by hosting a Reading Time Out for the students in attendance. Earlier this summer, Warriors swingman Kelenna Azubuike made his first trip to Africa and took part in a summit that brought together the world's political and business leaders to focus attention and resources on Africa's economic and social development. Warriors Land 14th Pick In 2008 NBA Draft
The NBA held its 24th Annual Draft Lottery on May 20 in Secaucus, New Jersey, and the Warriors came away with the 14th selection of the 2008 NBA Draft, as well as the 19th selection of the second round (#49 overall). Warriors Basketball Camp Visits
Warriors Basketball Camp has enjoyed several guest appearances from Warriors players, coaches and front-office staff. Among those visiting the camp this off-season have been Corey Maggette, Marcus Williams, Keith Smart, Sidney Moncrief and Jim Barnett.
