Warriors Receive Three Northern California Emmy Award Nominations
Team Recognized For Warriors Weekly TV Show, On-Air Talent & Live Broadcast

The Golden State Warriors have received three Northern California Emmy Award Nominations from the San Francisco/Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The announcement was made by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Warriors Weekly, the team’s weekly magazine-style television show that airs on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, was nominated in the category of “Sports – Regularly Scheduled Daily or Weekly Program.” The specific Warriors Weekly episode that is recognized in the nomination originally aired on December 15, 2009, and featured a “Behind The Scenes” look at the game-day routine of rookie guard Stephen Curry, a “Warriors Profile” of second-year forward Anthony Randolph and an “In The Paint” segment with Warrior Girl Lacy (See videos to the right). The nomination recognizes Executive Producers Joe Azzolina & Dan Becker, Associate Producer Marcus Huffman and Creative Director Ben Brunetti.

The Warriors were also nominated in the “Live Sporting Event/Game” category for the Comcast SportsNet Bay Area telecast of the team’s home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 11, 2010. Additionally, the team’s television announcers, play-by-play man Bob Fitzgerald and color analyst Jim Barnett, were nominated in the category of “On-Camera Talent – Sports Play-By-Play,” along with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area reporter Jaymee Sire Eidel.

The 39th Annual Northern California Area Emmy Awards will be presented on Saturday, May 15.
