Alvin Gentry, Phoenix Suns Head Coach:

“He (Ellis) is so hard to guard in the open court, he really is as good as anyone in the league. We even tried to give our defenders some help guarding him, but it didn’t matter.”

Rick Adelman, Houston Rockets Head Coach:

“Well, we held him to two less than the last time we played (44 instead of 46). He played a great game and made so many shots. We tried to limit him to taking jump shots and keep him from getting to the rim, but he was still able to do both. Monta is a great scorer and it is really hard to double him.”

Nate McMillan, Portland Trail Blazers Head Coach:

“He is very aggressive and can flat out score. He is fearless going to the basket and when he has his jump shot going it is very tough to defend him. Monta is a tough cover when he has everything going like he did tonight.”

Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder (via Twitter):

“Monta Ellis makes it look so easy when he plays!!! Always enjoy watchin him hoop”

Rudy Gay, Memphis Grizzlies:

“him, he’s easily one of the fastest players in the league. One of the problems you have when anybody guards him is trying to stay in front of him, and that’s tough because of his speed.”

Manu Ginobili, San Antonio Spurs:

“It’s important for us to make him (Ellis) see a crowd. If you leave him one on one, he’s deadly. He’s too quick, and he’s really good at attacking the rim.”

Martell Webster, Minnesota Timberwolves:

“The kid can flat out score. He’s an animal with the ball in his hands. The guy is phenomenal with the basketball, and he made some amazing finishes around the rim tonight.”

Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets:

“I watch Golden State a lot, and Monta Ellis is one of my favorite players in the League to watch.”
