Hardwood Classics Month Continues Friday With Tribute To 1974-75 Championship
Members Of Championship Team To Help Honor 88 Fans Who Have Been Season Ticket Holders Since 1974-75
The Golden State Warriors will continue their celebration of NBA Hardwood Classics Month with a special tribute to 88 fans who have been Warriors’ Season Ticket Holders since the 1974-75 NBA Championship season (or before) on Friday, February 25, when the team plays host to the Atlanta Hawks at Oracle Arena, it was announced today. To help pay tribute to these loyal fans, several members of the 1974-75 Championship team – including players Rick Barry, Bill Bridges, Charles Dudley, George Johnson, Clifford Ray and Jamaal Wilkes, as well as Head Coach Alvin Attles and Assistant Coach Joe Roberts – will be on hand for the celebration.
During Hardwood Classics Month, the team will pay tribute to its past by donning classic uniforms from the 1974-75 season, which feature the State of California with a prominent northern star placed over the Bay Area to represent the team’s home in the Golden State. Additionally, as a tribute to former owner Franklin Mieuli, who passed away on April 25, 2010, a circular black patch featuring a blue & gold deerstalker cap similar to the one he was famous for wearing has been added to the Hardwood Classics uniforms.
For each of the Hardwood Classic Nights in February, the Warriors are offering a special ticket package and will honor many of the famous figures that contributed to the memorable 1974-75 NBA Championship. Here are the details and ticket offer for Friday night’s game:
