Warriors Sign Festus Ezeli To Contract
Center Was 30th Overall Selection In 2012 NBA Draft

The Golden State Warriors have signed Festus Ezeli, whom the club selected with the 30th overall selection in last week’s NBA Draft, to a contract, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Ezeli (pronounced Eh-ZEE-lee), 22, was tabbed by the Warriors with the final pick in the first round after playing four seasons at Vanderbilt. For his career, the 6’11’’ center averaged 7.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks while shooting .562 from the field in 121 games with the Commodores. Additionally, he left Vandy as the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots (204), breaking a mark previously held by Will Perdue (157). A native of Nigeria, his best season came as a junior in 2010-11 when he averaged 13.0 points and 6.3 rebounds while setting a single-season school record with 2.6 blocks per contest.
