Warriors Announce Long-Term Rights Extension With Comcast SportsNet Bay Area

The Golden State Warriors announced today that the team has reached a long-term extension to their rights agreement and media partnership with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We are thrilled to strengthen our relationship with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and we are equally excited about what the future holds,” said Warriors’ Co-Executive Chairman and CEO Joe Lacob. “This agreement is a crucial component to our future business objectives.”

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area has been the exclusive local home of Warriors basketball on television since 2002. The network’s coverage has expanded every year since that time, with a total of 81 games being featured on this season’s broadcast schedule, along with complete pre-and post-game coverage surrounding nearly every game. Online, also delivers comprehensive 24/7 Warriors and NBA coverage all season long and features insightful articles and analysis and online video – including player and coach interviews and press conferences.

“Reaching this extension was something that Joe and the new ownership group were focused on from the very beginning of the purchase process,” said Warriors’ President Robert Rowell. “This deal is all about the future and moving forward. Along those lines, the legal issues that existed prior to new ownership are a thing of the past.”
