Warriors, ORACLE Formally Announce Naming Rights Agreement For ORACLE Arena

ORACLE and the Golden State Warriors today formally announced a naming rights agreement in which the Arena in Oakland will be renamed ORACLE Arena. The 10-year agreement also includes additional exclusive team sponsorship elements with the National Basketball Association club. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

ORACLE Arena is the premier entertainment venue in Northern California, and the agreement will provide the world’s largest enterprise software company with a variety of sponsorship opportunities with the Warriors, including exterior and interior signage, VIP customer/partner hospitality and various other amenities.

ORACLE Arena will play host to 41 Warriors regular-season home games each season, as well as a spectrum of other events that include concerts, and other family-friendly entertainment. The venue underwent a $140 million interior renovation in 1996 that increased basketball capacity by more than 4,000, to its current occupancy maximum of 19,596. A total of 72 luxury suites and other exclusive clubs were also added.

ORACLE Arena will continue to be managed by Oakland-Alameda County Authority (JPA) and SMG. The JPA will be asked to approve the deal at its November 10 meeting.

The Denver-based Bonham Group, a nationally-respected marketing firm that specializes in arena naming rights procurement, was hired in 2004 and assisted in the process of securing this agreement. Additionally, Sign-A-Rama, a Florida-based signage company, has been hired to develop and produce the entire range of interior and exterior signage that will be affixed to ORACLE Arena.
