Warriors point guard Baron Davis was named Western Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 4 after averaging 21.0 points and 13.0 assists in three victories over New Orleans/Oklahoma City (11/28), Sacramento (11/30) and Charlotte (12/2).

Combined with the back-to-back weekly awards that Davis won for weeks ending April 3 & April 10 of last season, Davis has now won three of the last eight Western Conference Player of the Week awards. This marks the fifth time in his career that he has been named Player of the Week, having also won the Eastern Conference award twice while with the Hornets. Combined with Jason Richardson’s Player of the Week nod last March 20, the Warriors have now had four of the last 10 award winners. Prior to Richardson’s award, Golden State had not had a Player of the Week winner since Tim Hardaway claimed it in November, 1994.
